Personal info held by unis and councils is ripe for cyber attack
Secure Logic, an Australian cyber security business, has identified what company boss Santosh Devaraj has called “significant weakness and vulnerabilities” in the personal files held by Australian universities and local councils that can be “weaponised” by a foreign adversary, such as China.
In a study where all the information is being obtained through publicly available data, Secure Logic is trawling through federal and state government departments, local councils and universities to analyse their cyber-attack vulnerabilities, and complete its work by midway through 2021.
